2011 is here! The holidays are finally over!

Happy New Year.

Just a catch-up to talk a bit about what I’ve been up to over the last month. I’ve been focusing on masterminding my attack for getting an agent for my book (evil laugh of unwarranted overconfidence not implied). Frankly, writing a synopsis is the hardest thing I haven’t yet succeeded in doing.

There’s also another development – my partner and I, my husband Peter Crosby who happens to be an incredibly talented photographer and videographer, and I, have decided to work on projects together. Our first is a multimedia interview / coverage of the start of the Barcelona World Race, a sailing race around the globe starting in Barcelona that left the port on the last day of 2010.

We interviewed the only American in the race, Ryan Breymaier.  I wrote an article about the experience and Peter created a visually arresting video combining music and reflection on the feeling of the boats gathering under the stormy sky to take off around the world.

What Women Make is of course evolving and for the moment, I’ve decided to step away from the ‘Store’ part of ‘Store-y’  and  focus on the writing and coverage of brilliant women and innovative ideas.

Thanks for your support and encouragement, especially through the London Design Festival and WWM London talks in 2010.
